Vaishali excels

CHENNAI: Chennai Equestrian Club's Vaishali Mahalingam won the first two positions astride two different horses — Taurus and Covington — in the dressage (seniors) event of the four-day South India equestrian championships, which commenced at Wellington (Nilgiris) on Thursday.

CEC made a clean sweep of the morning events by winning all the places in the senior and junior dressage events.

The results:

Dressage: Seniors: 1. Vaishali Mahalingam (Taurus, CEC), 2. Vaishali Mahalingam (Covington, CEC), 3. Olympe Coly (Bold Performer, CEC).

Juniors & Young riders: 1. Vijayraghavan (Covington, CEC), 2. Rishika Murthy (Taurus, CEC), 3. Rishika Murthy (Autobahn, CEC).

Jumping 90: Riders over 18 years: 1. Preeti Madhu (Zubana, ECE), 2. Abdeali Masaliya (Covington, CEC), 3. Lt. Col. A.S. Rathor (King of Land, DSSC).

14 to 18 years: 1. Vishesh Sharma (Musafir, DSSC), 2. Rishab Mehta (Contender, RM Farms), 3. Sankrit Iyer (Royal Pride, DSSC) .
