Keep updating knowledge on current affairs, students told

Staff Reporter

HOSUR: Sustained updating of the knowledge on the current affairs is the need of the hour as it will enhance the employment opportunity of the professionally qualified youths, Jayaprakash A. Gandhi, Education and Career Consultant, said here on Friday.

Addressing the students at ‘The Hindu Career Guidance' organised at the Shisya School in Hosur, he said the students should update their knowledge on current affairs through sustained reading of newspapers and magazines. “In this competitive world, mere acquiring a professional degree will not fetch better employment opportunity. One should have the passion in their choice of a career, whichever field it may be. To succeed in their chosen field, it requires sustained updation of the knowledge,” he added.

Courses

There were numerous courses which had bright future other than medical and engineering.

He advised the parents not to thrust their decision on their children while choosing the field of professional education. “Every human being in this world has unique ability. One has to find out the ability imbibed in them and try to improve the same to succeed in life,” he said.

Students appearing for competitive examinations such as CAT, AIEEE etc should not fumble over the question paper. Try to tick the answers for the easy questions as quick as they can and then try to solve difficult questions.

He also presented a power-point presentation on the technical education scenario in the State.

Mr. Gandhi exhorted the students to put all the efforts during Plus Two education and enjoy rest of their life. If not, their life will be messed up, he added.

Dr. Nandkishore S. Rathi, a career guidance expert, explained to the students how to pluck the fruit of success in their career through a power-point presentation.

Later, both of them interacted with the students and parents and answered their queries.

N. Joshua, Regional General Manager (Advertising), spoke on the occasion. Vasanthi Theagarajan, Principal, Shisya School, welcomed the students and parents. M. Vijayalakshmi, Senior Advertisement Officer, proposed a vote of thanks.
