PUDUCHERRY: Chairperson of the United Progressive Alliance Sonia Gandhi will inaugurate the new Women and Child Hospital in the last week of June. She will also hand over houses constructed for the tsunami-affected fishermen at Kalapet, a release from the Chief Minister's Office said. The visit was finalised after Chief Minister V. Vaithilingam and Home Minister E. Valsaraj met Ms. Gandhi in New Delhi on Thursday. The Chief Minister and the Home Minister also met Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Gulam Nabi Azad to discuss issues pertaining to the administrative matters of the Union Territory. Mr. Azad has agreed to inaugurate the Government Medical College at Thattanchavady. The date would be finalised later, according to the release.
