Admitted to hospital

KOCHI: P.S. Viju of CPI (M) and V.R. Sudheer of the Congress were admitted to hospitals after the altercation at the council meeting. The two sought admission in hospitals complaining of physical distress. Both of them have also filed police complaints against each other stating that they were attacked in the council hall.

Mr. Viju said that he suffered a minor bruise in his right hand in the attack by Mr. Sudheer. However, Mr. Sudheer, on his part said that he was kicked by Mr. Viju. The two were seen shouting and pushing each other as the council hall was immersed in the commotion. A few councillors from both fronts also came in support of the fighting councillors and joined the melee.
