Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Special Investigation Team of Hyderabad police on Friday took into custody alleged operative of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Mohammad Zia Ul Haq, who was arrested three days ago on charge of planning terror attacks targeting the State capital.

A local court, earlier in the morning, permitted the police to take him into custody for nine days for further questioning. Haq, police believe, holds the key to different terrorist modules and sleeper cells. He was brought to the SIT office from Cherlapally prison under tight security.
