THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Plachimada Coca-Cola Viruddha Samara Samithi, the organisation behind the agitation against the Coca-Cola bottling plant at Plachimada in Palakkad district, has urged Communist Party of India(Marxist) general secretary Prakash Karat to prevail upon the Kerala government, led by his party, to constitute a tribunal for recovering compensation from the multinational soft drink company for the damage suffered by the people of the village on account of the functioning of the bottling plant. The organisation has sent a memorandum to Mr. Karat noting that a high-level committee of the State government had recommended the setting up of such a tribunal under the relevant laws.
