Zakir Hussain performs in Melbourne

Melbourne: The east and the west met in a musical harmony when Indian tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain played the ‘ Sangam' along with American saxophonist Charles Lloyd and drummer Eric Harland at the Melbourne Jazz Festival here.

The two-hour long performance by the trio was held at the famous Melbourne Town Hall.

Thousands of music lovers gave a standing ovation for 10 long minutes, after the trio concluded their performance. — PTI
