CBI wants to question two more Gujarat Police officers

Special Correspondent

GANDHINAGAR: The Central Bureau of Investigation, probing the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case, has sought the Special Court's permission to take two more police officers into custody for questioning.

The former Superintendent of Police, N.K. Amin, and policeman V.A. Rathod — already arrested by the CID (Crime) police and lodged in jail — were taken to the Special CBI court for remand of 14 days. Both, however, sought 10 days' time to engage their own advocates following which the court postponed the hearing till May 12. Mr. Amin and Mr. Rathod were among the 15 police officials in detention. But, the CBI felt that they would be able to give important clues to its investigation.

None of the six senior Gujarat cadre IPS officers, summoned by the CBI between May 3 and 7, appeared before the investigation agency.
