VIJAYAWADA: “I have put in a lot of hard work to lose weight and practised a lot for this stage show,” said film actor Charmee waving to the crowds at the end of her performance at ‘Santoor Maha Jalsa-2' event held in the city on Sunday evening.

The Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting conducted the event for stockists and distributors of its ‘Santoor' brand of soap in Andhra Pradesh and their family members on the sprawling grounds of Andhra Loyola College. The large stage, high decibel music and an array of arc lights turned the college grounds into a vibrant chill-out zone making the evening colourful. Besides Charmee, other actors Poonam Bajwa and Kim Sharma too cast a spell on the audience with their dance numbers along with a troupe of professional dancers from Europe.

Beginning with rocky number ‘Rakhee...Rakhee…Rakhee…' from NTR Jr.-starrer Telugu film ‘Rakhee,' Charmee danced for all her hit numbers such as ‘Evaraina choostunnaaraa…', ‘Ku..ku..ku..' and ‘Vastavaa…vastavaa…' The venue reverberated with the loud applause from the packed audience.

Thanking the people for encouraging her with their applause, Charmee admitted that she was new to stage shows and yet to learn a lot. “All I need is lots of your love, affection and everything,” she said. Speaking in flawless Telugu, the Punjab-born actor promised the audience that she would entertain them with many more stage shows in the future.

Television anchor Udayabhanu anchored the show that featured mimicry and comedy skits by Shiva Reddy.
