4 more government offices torched in Manipur

Iboyaima Laithangbam

IMPHAL: Four more government offices were torched in Manipur on Sunday night, bringing the total number of offices torched by protesters to 20. Official reports said documents, furniture, computers and other equipment were burnt to ashes.

The Naga Students' Federation and the All Naga Students' Association Manipur have been on the agitation path, protesting against the holding of autonomous district council elections and the bar by the Manipur government on the proposed visit to his home village in the State by Nationalist Social Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah) leader Thuingaleng Muivah.

Government and private hospitals have stopped all operations as there is no medical gas supply owing to the protest.
