Sabanayakan re-elected SJFI president

PANAJI: S. Sabanayakan (Kolkata) was re-elected president and G. Viswanath (Mumbai) secretary as the 34th National convention of the Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) concluded here on Monday.

The annual general meeting of the SJFI also re-elected Chandrasekhar P. Sant (Sports Journalists Association of Mumbai) as its treasurer.

Other office-bearers: vice-presidents: A. Vinod (Kerala), Gordon D'Costa (Mumbai), S.S. Shreekumar (Bangalore) and Alak Ghosh (Tripura); joint-secretary: Subodh M. Barua (Assam); executive committee: G.B. Vanamali (Tamil Nadu), R. Kaushik (Bangalore), D. Sampath Kumar (Andhra Pradesh), Vikas Pandey (Indore), Anand Naik and Sanjeev Samyal (Mumbai) and Purnendu Chakraborti (Koltaka). Over 70 sports journalists from 16 States attended the five-day convention held for the first time in Goa .
