Kottayam: Kollam girls won the title in the 34th State Junior basketball championships beating Kottayam 68-53. Anjanna (31) was Kollam's top scorer, with Shilji George (16) and Premi P.Lal (16) chipping in. Sona M. Saji (25) top-scored for Kottayam. Kannur defeated Thrissur 68-48 to win the third place in girl's section. In boy's section, Thrissur finished third after making short work of Thiruvananthapuram 48-21.
