Super Girls plays Wonder Girls in final

Mumbai: Geethu Anna Jose managed 19 points, a below-par showing by her standards, as Super Girls recorded its third straight win in the women's league of the Mastan Basketball Professional League, defeating Power Girls 70-60 here on Thursday.

Super Girls takes on Wonder Girls in the final, the latter defeated Golden Girls 55-35 in a league game played late on Wednesday night.

Prashanti Singh and sister Akanksha Singh got going for Power Girls in the first quarter to help it lead 18-10. Super Girls dominated the second quarter 25-4 and narrowed down lead to 35-22 at half-time.

Power Girls, which lost the third quarter 15-16, before international Seema Singh stepped on court to support Prashanti and Akansha, led 23-19 at one point before falling short.

Vishesh Brighuvanshi top scored with 33 points to not only help Lions defeat Kings but also take it to the men's semifinals from Group A.

In another match, Prince overcame a determined Riders to win 77-60 in Group A and confirm a semifinal place.
