Programme obstructed at 18 villages in Dubbak constituency limits Severity of water problem was raised at almost all gram sabhas SANGAREDDY: The call given by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) to boycott the Praja Patham faced few hurdles in the district. According to information available with the officials on the final day of Praja Patham on Friday, the programme was boycotted at 71 villages under Siddipet constituency followed by 19 wards in Siddipet town. The programme was obstructed at 18 villages in Dubbak constituency limits which are expected to be the strong hold of TRS. At one village in Medak constituency limits the programme was stalled by locals and in all these cases they demanded formation of Telangana before commencing any programme. In all the remaining eight Assembly constituencies the programme went off peacefully except people asking to address water problem and low voltage power supply during Praja Patham. At one village in Zaheerabad constituency locals boycotted the programme demanding water supply immediately. Severity of water problem was raised at almost all grama sabhas by locals as the ground water depleted resulting in either drying up of bores or reducing the yield. Contrary to the announcement made that Rs. 1.5 crore was sanctioned to address water problem in seven Assembly constituency limits, Medak MP M. Vijayashanti has proposed 245 works costing about of Rs. 1.12 crore. Even in this amount only Rs. 56 lakh was released and the remaining is under process.
