Bookings begin at jewellery outlets for Akshaya Tritiya

KOCHI: Jewellery outlets are getting ready to usher in Akshaya Tritiya in a big way.

Bookings have begun in most of the jewellery outlets in Kochi. Customers can register their names in advance. Many of the shops allow the customer to buy gold in advance and take possession on the day. It would shield the customer from a hike in the prices on the festival day.

Several jewellery shops are offering special packages for the purchases.

At Kirtilals, an outlet on M.G. Road, the customers will be charged at the lowest price of gold recorded during the booking period, from May 6 to 15. The shop is offering gold and silver coins for the purchase on the occasion. It will be open from 6 a.m. on the festival day.

Low price offer

Venkatesha Naik, another jewellery outlet, is also offering a similar facility.

The customers will be charged the lowest price of gold during the booking period.

The policy will ensure that the customer gets a fair deal, especially in the wake of rising prices of the commodity, according to sales personnel.

The shop is also offering gold coins of denominations ranging from 5 gm to 10 gm.

The special booking for Akshaya Tritiya started on May 7 at Joy Alukkas, a chain of jewellery outlets.

The customers can select the items and pay half the price at the time of booking. Gold coins are offered as an incentive for the purchase.

Bhima Jewellers, another well-known name in the jewellery market, has also begun advance booking for the festival purchase.

The selection of items will be easier for the customer who uses the booking facility, according to the jewellers.

Kalyan Jewellers, having presence in many cities in Kerala and outside, is offering special light weight collection on the festival occasion.

About one lakh designs are available at the outlets, according to the jewellers.
