Ravinder downs Sravan, moves up

HYDERABAD: Ravinder of Fateh Maidan Club defeated Sravan (SKK) 43-33, 58-17, 60-43 and entered the second round of snooker in the FMC State Open billiards and snooker tournament at the FMC here on Friday.

The results:

Snooker: Second round: Govind Raj Reddy (SCR) bt Murali (SKK) 53-14, 49-26, 54-15; Kalyan (SCR) bt Hari Mahima (KDBSA) 43-41, 3-65, 14-43, 52-34, 36-34; Shabbir (3M) bt Osman Ali Khan (FMC) 23-48, 43-53, 58-20, 62-18, 72-18; Girish (LAK) bt Appu (SKK) 60-16, 49-23, 65-30; Kumar (SKK) bt Sudhakar Reddy (FMC) 63-35, 66-17, 72-19 .

Prahil in second round

Prahil Jain scored a 6-3 win over Karteek Adityan in the boys' under-12 first round of the AP Mini and sub-junior tennis tournament for boys and girls organised by GK's Trapeze Tennis Academy on its premises here in Sainikpuri.

Selection trials

Fencing Association of Andhra Pradesh will conduct selection trials in seniors category for men and women on May 16 at the Sree Hanuman Vyayamshala (Sultan Bazar) from 4 p.m. to pick the State team for the second Federation Cup championship to be held in Patiala from June 5 to 7.
