NEW DELHI: Unranked Sai Reddy caused a flutter as he qualified for the boys event ahead of the top-seeded Sumeet Shinde in the ITF juniors Grade ‘II' tennis tournament at the DLTA Complex here on Sunday. The 15-year-old from Kadapa asserted his fighting qualities by beating Chun Yu LIn of Chinese Taipei 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the third and final qualifying round in his maiden ITF tournament. he Andhra lad had earlier ousted the top-seeded Sumeet Shinde 7-5, 6-4 in the second round, after having waged a three-setter in the first round earlier in the day on Saturday. The Indian players will try to assert their ability against a clutch of quality players from China. The results: Qualifying event (third and final round): Boys: B.
