Nadal triumphs

MADRID: Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer 6-4, 7-6(5) to win the Madrid Masters on Sunday, gaining revenge for the defeat he suffered at the hands of the World No. 1 in last year's final.

Nadal collected his 18th career Masters 1000 title, one more than Andre Agassi and two ahead of Federer.

The Spaniard now leads Federer 14-7 in career meetings with ten victories from a dozen meetings on clay. — Agencies
