Kozhikode: Kerala Congress(M) spokesperson P.C. George, MLA, has alleged that the Kinaloor issue was a clear instance of the CPI(M) leaders playing to the tune of the land mafia. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Thomas said around 6,000 land registrations had taken place around the proposed industrial park at Kinaloor in five years, which, according to him, was a “clear indication for the role of land mafia.” Mr. George said the new landowners at Kinaloor also included seemingly “strange names” of people from north India. Showing a copy of the land registration document of a Delhi-based company, he said there were many such registrations made on “suspicious” names in the area.
