‘KTDC strategy to woo tourists'

Kozhikode: The Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) Hotels and Resorts is devising marketing strategies to defuse the crisis in the tourism sector caused by the global economic slowdown, Cherian Philip, chairman, KTDC, has said in a statement on Wednesday.

The special attractions at its tourist centres were being featured in road shows at tourism marts within and outside the country with the help of tour operators. The room rent in the corporation's KTDC's premium hotels was now between Rs.4,000 and Rs.20,000 and in its economy hotels between Rs.1,200 and Rs.2,500. Booking for these programmes could be done online. Tourists reaching the State to avail these special packages would be provided transport and facilities for rest and food in its hotels.
