CHENNAI: In an attempt to create environmental awareness among people, Pothys, a chain of textile outlets in the State, has kick-started ‘Pasumai Kondattam,' a green celebration at all its outlets. Customers are given free saplings or seeds of their choice, , said S. Ramesh, its Managing Director.
A website www.gogreenatpothys.com has been created. Pothys has also begun a ‘Green T. Nagar' initiative, in which students from colleges and universities would plant bamboo saplings in residences, offices, institutions in T. Nagar.
