KRISHNAGIRI: A kidnapped male baby was rescued by a special team of police within 24 hours of the occurrence of the crime on Wednesday. Police sources said that R. Ramakka of Kamarajar Colony in Berigai in Krishnagiri district lost her three-month-old child at the new bus stand in Krishnagiri on Tuesday. The child was allegedly kidnapped when Ramakka left the baby to the care of Dhanalakshmi, hailing from Krishnan Koil Street in Krishnagiri, to buy food for her daughter. On return, she found the woman missing with the baby. She lodged a complaint with the Krishnagiri town police station. The police traced Dhanalakshmi and on enquiry she confessed that she had handed over the infant to a couple Siva and Girija, residing at Perambur in Chennai. On direction from A.G. Babu, Superintendent of Police, a special team rushed to Chennai and rescued the baby and handed over to Ramakka on Wednesday. Dhanalakshmi, Rani and Girija were arrested by Krishnagiri town police.
