Visakhapatnam
VISAKHAPATNAM: Some of the originating, terminating trains and others passing through Visakhapatnam have been cancelled as a precautionary measure in view of heavy rain as a result of cyclone ‘Laila'. Train No. 2842 Chennai-Howrah Coromandel Express scheduled to leave Visakhapatnam at 10.10 p.m. on Thursday, train No. 7482 Tirupathi – Bilaspur, scheduled to arrive here at 5 a.m. on Friday and the Visakhapatnam-Tirupathi Tirumala Express, scheduled to leave Visakhaptnam at 1.50 p.m. on Thursday, were cancelled. Visakhapatnam-Rajahmundry-Visakhapatnam Passenger scheduled to leave at 4 p.m. on Thursday was also cancelled as the incoming train did not arrive here earlier in the morning, according to a spokesman of the East Coast Railway. Train No. 5227 Yashwantpur-Muzaffapur, scheduled to arrive here at 11.05 p.m. on Thursday, was diverted via Guntakal and Dhone. The trains which are running over five hours behind schedule are: 7480 Tirupathi-Puri expected to arrive here at 4.40 a.m. on Friday, 6310 Patna-Ernakulam scheduled to arrive here at 2.15 p.m. on Friday and 2864 Yashwantpur-Howrah scheduled to arrive at 11 a.m. are running over five hours behind schedule.
