TUG CC wins title

Salem: Medium pacer S. Shanmugam picked five for 38 as TUG CC defeated Students Senior CC by one wicket and emerged champion of the TNCA-SDCA first division league recently.

After bundling out Students Senior for 157, TUG, thanks to R. Sivaprakasam (54), scored the required runs with a wicket to spare.

The scores (final): First division: Students Sr. CC 157 in 45 overs (S. Shanmugam five for 38) lost to TUG CC 159 for nine in 44.3 overs (R. Sivaprakasam 54, S. Chandramouli three for 27). Second division: GMCC 221 for nine in 45 overs (A. Iliyaraja 52, S. I. Vasudevan four for 22, T. Kesavan three for 42) bt SSP RC 219 for nine in 45 overs (S.I. Vasudevan 62). Earlier scores: First division: KPSC CC 134 in 45 overs (Arun four for 13) lost to Students Sr. CC 136 for six in 35.1 overs; Tigers XI CC 132 in 45 overs (D. Ramakrishnan 41, M. Pargunam four for 9, A. Kannan three for 34) lost to Vampire CC 133 for three in 21 overs (G. Periasamy 60 not out); Pals CC 247 in 43 overs (Rajesh 57, D. Sivaram five for 28, Vijay Pranav three for 49) lost to Salem Kings CC 237 in 43 overs (P.M. Ashok Kumar 60, Kriba three for 24); Kumar CC 240 for eight in 45 overs (Abuthagir 83) lost to Rothmans CC 241 for two in 37.1 overs (R. Ganesh 120 not out, M. Ravi 55).

Second division: Liberty CC w/o. DD CC .

Anish scalps five

At Udhagamandalam, fine bowling by B. Anish (five for 26) enabled Rising Stars CC score a 27-run win over Fernhill Youngsters SC in the TNCA-NDCA second division league for the Murali Babu Rolling Trophy.

The scores: Rising Stars CC 164 for six in 30 overs (A. Ibrahim Basha 61, I. Hakeem 31 not out) bt Fernhill YSC 137 (J. Padmanabhan 40, B. Anish five for 26); Green City CC 99 (T. Senthil four for 18) lost to All Stars CC 101 for six in 17.2 overs (B. Senthil Kumar four for 36) .

Umpires' camp
