Bhutan coin on Buddha

A commemorative coin on Lord Buddha issued by the Royal Monetary Authority of the Kingdom of Bhutan, collected by a numismatist from the city D. Satyabuddu.

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Royal Monetary Authority of the Kingdom of Bhutan has issued 1 oz silver coins on the Enlightenment of Lord Buddha. On the obverse of the coin, released in the year 2003, is the Buddha sitting under the Bodhi tree can be seen and on the reverse two dragons are seen.

The coins, endorsed by the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth, are issued in the denomination of 250 Ngultrum, which is equal to Rs.250. The coins were collected by noted numismatist of the city D. Satyabubuddu. The Great Renunciation of Lord Buddha was him abandon his royal life and embark on a journey as a seeker of truth. It was under a Bodhi tree that he attained enlightenment.
