CUTTACK: A man died when his motorcycle was hit by a private car in which State Transport Minister Sanjib Sahu was travelling at Rathia near Badachana in Jajpur district, about 40 km from here, on Sunday. The local police seized the deceased's motorcycle and sent the body for post-mortem, but let off the private car and its driver. They allowed the Minister to travel in the same car back to Bhubaneswar. The youth was identified as one Prasant Panda (35) of Badachana area. The severely injured victim was immediately shifted to local Dharmasala hospital where doctors referred him to SCB Medical College, Cuttack, as his condition deteriorated. “Prashant succumbed to his injuries while on his way to Cuttack hospital,” said a local police officer.
