Pakistan violates ceasefire again
Jammu: In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistan troops on Sunday opened heavy fire on six forward posts along the Line of Control in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir. It was the fifth incident this month.
“Pakistan troops opened indiscriminate and heavy fire on 5-6 Indian Posts along the Line of Control in Krishnagati sub-sector, 210 km from here, at around 0905 hours,” Brigadier-General Staff (BGS), 16 Corps, Brig Gurdeep Singh told PTI.
Indian troops retaliated resulting in heavy exchanges till 11.30 a.m., he said.
There was no causality on this side.
“It is a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops,” Brig. Singh said, adding that firing from the Pakistani side was continuing intermittently.
Pakistani troops targeted Forward Defence Locations (FDLs) of Kranti, Chajja One, Gorda, Kripan, Balnoie and Mankote in Krishnagati sub-sector.
On May 1, there was ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops in Krishnagati belt of Poonch sector when they fired on 4 Indian posts. — PTI
