Pre-University course just got a little pricier

Tuition fee is now Rs. 420 in government colleges

Bangalore: The State Government has revised the fee structure for pre-university courses from the 2010-11 academic year.

As per the new fee structure, application fee and registration fee will be Rs. 21 each. The annual tuition fee in government PU colleges will be Rs. 420, and double that in private PU colleges.

The revised laboratory fee is Rs. 280, admission fee Rs. 30, late admission fee Rs. 420, special late admission fee Rs. 1,000, sports fee Rs. 70, cultural activities fee Rs. 56 and library fee Rs.100.

Students' and teacher' welfare fees, toilet maintenance, and electricity and water fees are Rs. 21 each.

Exam-related fees

The examination fee for first-year pre-university course is Rs. 140 and for the second-year pre-university course, it is Rs. 252.

The fee for re-totalling of marks, re-evaluation of answer scripts, and photocopies of answer papers has also been revised.

The fee for re-totalling of marks has been increased to Rs. 280 from the existing Rs. 200. Fee for getting a photocopy of an answer script is now Rs. 420, up from Rs. 300. The fee for re-evaluation of each answer script has shot up from Rs. 750 to Rs. 1,050.

The fee for providing duplicate marks card under tatkal scheme (duplicate marks card issued the same day) will be Rs. 5,000.

New colleges

Meanwhile, the revised fee for an application to starting a new private PU college is Rs. 30,000 while the registration fee is Rs. 60,000. The annual fee for renewal of recognition for private colleges is now Rs. 12,000.
