SSLC pass percentage 73.86 at Villupuram

VILLUPURAM: Girl students have outperformed boys in SSLC held in March/April in Villupuram district. First rank is shared by R. Gayathri of Thirukkoilur Govt.Girls'HSS ( 491/500) and P. Lavanya of A.K.T.Memorial Mat.HSS at Kallakurichi (491).

The second rank is shared by M. Porselvi and M. Sakthi Oli of Thirukkoilur Govt.Girls' HSS, and A. Mahalakshmi of S.S.V.HSS at Senthamangalam (489 each).

The third rank is shared by S. Thenmozhi of St. Philomena HSS at Tindivanam, S. Anitha of AKT Mem.Mat.HSS at Kallakurichi, and S.Navaneetham of Mount Park HSS at Thiagadurgam (488 each).Collector in charge N.Venkatachalamtold The Hindu that of 40,789 students who appeared for the examinations, 30,126 were successful, thus, taking the pass percentage to 73.86.The toppers in the matriculation stream are: V. Muthukumaran(487), R. Manopriya (486) and R. Nivethitha (483), all from A.K.T.Mem.Mat.HSS, Kallakurichi. Of 2,739 candidates who took the matriculation examinations, 2,529 passed, thereby achieving a pass percentage of 92.33. Of 52 schools that scored cent per cent results, nine were government schools .
