Protesters taken to hospital

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: Forty-five persons trained at the Government Teacher Training Institute for the Blind and Orthopedically Handicapped, Poonamallee, on a hunger strike since Tuesday demanding government jobs were on Wednesday evening brought to the Government General Hospital.

The police brought them to the hospital. They, however, refused medical treatment and stayed outside the ward, according to A. Ramesh, one of the protesters. “We are demanding jobs under special provisions,” said G.P. Priya, another protester.
