PUDUCHERRY: Psychometric tests that gauge a student's skill, attitude and behavioural tendencies, will be the highlight of Day 2 of TheHindu Education Plus Career Fair 2010. The tests will also reveal the traits and problem areas of a student, and provide tips to tackle these problems.

The tests are scheduled to be held around 11.30 a.m. on Saturday at Jayaram Thirumana Nilayam, where the fair is now on.

TheHindu Education Plus Career Fair 2010, presented by VIT University, was kicked off in style on Friday, with many anxious students and parents gathering at the venue to attend the pre-counselling guidance sessions on engineering and medical courses. Students were also thronging the stalls put up by colleges from in and around Puducherry, to check out the courses offered by each.

Those who missed first day's activities need not fret, for Day 2 has plenty on the cards, apart from the psychometric tests.

A talk on the ‘IT Edge' will be held at around 10 a.m. The post-lunch session includes talks on offbeat courses and career options in manufacturing.

The aim of the fair is to educate students on various higher education options available to them after the completion of Class XII. But, students from Class IX to Class XII, graduates interested in taking up higher studies or jobs, college students, and their parents will find the fair useful as well. The fair is open from 9.30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Students may register for the psychometric test at the venue itself.

All those taking up the test must come to the BODHI stall at the fair by 10 a.m. on Saturday to collect materials required for the test.

All participants will receive a handbook titled ‘Carving your Future.' Entry is free. The associate sponsor of the event is Surya Group of Institutions, and the co-sponsors are Global Institute of Engineering and Technology and Image College of Arts, Animation and Technology. Radio Partner is Suryan FM Puducherry.

The psychometric test is being sponsored by BODHI, and prizes for the winners of the test are sponsored by Sri Lakshmi Jewellery.
