NEW DELHI: An unbeaten 90 by Dhruv Shorey, who struck 10 fours and two 6s, helped DDCA President's XI to a seven-wicket victory over BDM XI (Meerut) in a first round match of the 37th Goswami Ganesh Dutt memorial cricket tournament at the St. Stephen's College ground, Mori Gate, on Friday. Opting to bat, BDM XI made 167, thanks to a patient half-century by Sumit Yadav. DDCA President's XI chased the target with nearly 10 overs to spare, Unmukt Chand chipping in with 43 and putting on 82 for the second wicket with Dhruv. The scores: BDM XI (Meerut) 167 for eight in 40 overs (Sunit Yadav 50 n.o., Raj Kumar 26 n.o.) lost to DDCA President's XI 169 for three in 30.1 overs (Dhruv Shorey 90 n.o., Unmukt Chand 43) .
