Woman's death triggers tension

HYDERABAD: The death of a pregnant woman in a private hospital at Chandrayangutta on Thursday night triggered tension. Irate relatives attacked the hospital and damaged windowpanes.

Asma Sultana (26) of Jangammet went to the hospital two days ago for a check-up. Doctors asked her to undergo scanning as they could not find any foetus movement. They later found a dead foetus in the womb. Doctors operated her on Thursday and removed the foetus. A few minutes later, Asma's condition deteriorated due to excess bleeding. Doctors referred her to the Government Maternity Hospital in Petlaburj where she was declared brought dead. Based on a complaint lodged by her relatives, police registered a case under Section 304 (A) (causing death by negligence) against two doctors.
