CHENNAI: The medal winners of the Tamil Nadu team, which clinched the overall championship in the Federation Cup junior athletic meet in Visakhapatnam, were felicitated by the Tamil Nadu Athletics Association at the Nehru stadium on Sunday. T.K. Rajendra, vice-president of TNAA and ADGP, led the official team in honouring the athletes who brought laurels to the State. The others present on the occasion were R. Arumugam, DIG of Police, C. Neelasivalingasamy, Secretary TNAA, S.E.J. Easwar Rao, Treasurer, TNAA, and C. Latha, Jt. Secretary, TNAA. Tamil Nadu won six gold, six silver and two bronze medals to bag the honours. The medal winners present were: Gold: Binu Aquitto (400m hurdles), J. Preeth (pole vault), 4x100m boys' quartet; G. Gayathry (100m hurdles and triple jump) and Sujitha (400m hurdles). Silver: P. Kesavaramani (110m hurdles), J. Surender (triple jump), B. Azarudheen (long jump), J. Hemasree (100m hurdles), S. Neelaveni (heptathlon) and 4x100m girls' quartet. Bronze: J. Surender (110 m hurdles) and 4x400m boys' quartet . — Special Correspondent
