VISAKHAPATNAM: As a prelude to launching the Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) programme intended to create a slum-free city, a survey will begin from June 10. Training for master trainees for the exercise will begin on Saturday. The survey in 700 slums to be carried out by about 700 personnel will be completed in 40 to 50 days. Detailed Projected Reports (DPRs) will be prepared taking the BIS map-based survey as benchmark, according to Additional Commissioner (Projects) K. Ramesh, who held a meeting on Friday. Household survey and slum profile will be prepared covering about 1.6 lakh families. Working groups formed with the assistant project director as convener in each zone would play a key role in preparing the DPRs. UCD Project Director D.V. Ramana Murthy and Project Coordinator D. Rambabu participated.
