Villagers thrash MPP for ‘rape' attempt

MAHABUBNAGAR: Srinivas Reddy, Mandal Parishad President (MPP) of Maganoor mandal in the district, allegedly tried to rape a woman at Ujjelli village in the mandal, in the wee hours of Friday.
The villagers reportedly thrashed the MPP and handed him to the police. According to information Srinivas Reddy allegedly tried to rape his driver's wife by gaining entry into her house. The woman raised a hue and on hearing her cries the neighbours rushed to the house and caught Srinivas Reddy while he was trying to escape.
The villagers chased him and caught him. He was thrashed by the villagers and handed over to the police.
He is under going treatment at government head quarter hospital at Mahabubnagar. The police registered a case.
