Mad Soccer has it easy

HYDERABAD: Mad Soccer XI defeated Gowrishankar XI 2-0 in the league phase of the Sachdev Sports Cup veterans' football tournament, organised by Shastri Soccer Club, here on Monday.

In the 25th minute, Masiuddin was on target and within two minutes Akbar completed the tally for Mad Soccer.

State chess meet

The 24th AP State chess championship for boys and girls (under-13 years) will be held at Grandhi Varalakshmi Venkat Rao Institute of Technology (Bhimavaram, West Godavari) from June 18 to 20.

The meet is also a selection event to pick the State team for the sub-junior Nationals to be held from June 26 in Puducherry. The top four players in each category will be eligible to represent the State in the above Nationals. Players born on or after January 1, 1997 only are eligible to take part. Gold Cup cricket

The All India Tipu Sultan Gold Cup prize-money cricket tournament will be organised by Charminar Sports Academy in Kurnool from June 10 to 14 on a league-cum-knock-out basis. Interested may contact 9392436473 for details.
