Bharat Gopi Award for Thilakan

Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Thilakan has been selected for the Bharat Gopi Award 2010 instituted by the Manavaseva Welfare Society.

Former Union Minister O. Rajagopal has been selected for the Manavaseva Award for the year, society president Poykamukku Hari told a press conference.

While Mr. Thilakan was selected for the award for his contribution to the film world,

Mr. Rajagopal's role in the development of the State during his tenure as Minister won him the award.

The awards will be given away by Uthradam Tirunal Marthanda Varma, head of the ruling family of erstwhile Travancore, at a function to be held at Attingal on Saturday.
