Guntur Rural District Police formed

GUNTUR: The Guntur District Police has been technically bifurcated after Inspector General of Police K.R.M. Kishore Kumar issued orders effecting reorganisation of police stations in Guntur rural limits. The Guntur Urban District has already been carved out from the existing district, following a G.O issued on June 8.

The Guntur Rural Circle, which has Guntur Taluq, Prathipadu, Vatticherukuru and Pedakakani police stations, will now be confined to Guntur taluq police station at Nallapadu and manned by an Inspector in the rank of a Station House Officer.

The remaining two police stations have been merged into Chebrolu Circle, which was hitherto in Tsundur circle. Chebrolu along with Guntur taluq, Medikonduru will constitute Guntur South Sub-division.

Tsundur circle will consist of Tsundur, Amruthaluru and Cherukupalli police stations.

Repalle circle will now have Repalle, Bhattiprolu, Adauladeevi, Nagaram and Nizampatnam police stations.

The Amaravathi circle, which has been within Guntur Rural limits, will now be part of Sattenapalli sub-division and consists of Amaravathi, Thullur and Pedakupadu police stations.

Mangalagiri police station has been upgraded and would be manned by Inspector in the rank of SHO and be clubbed with Mangalagiri Rural and Pedakakani police stations to form into Guntur North Sub-Division. Medikonduru police station, which was hitherto in Sattenapalli Circle, has been delinked and upgraded into a circle.

A new Guntur Urban Woman police station has been formed with Inspector as an SHO who along with CCS will function under DSP, Crime, Guntur Urban Police District.
