Kidnapped man rescued after encounter

LUCKNOW: A man abducted last week was rescued on Sunday by the police, who arrested four abductors after an encounter in Shahjahanpur district.

Ramu Jatav, Veerbhan Singh, Omveer and Pujari were arrested after an encounter in the jungles of Hassanpur, and Rajesh Gupta, abducted from Jalalabad on June 8, was rescued, the police said.

A rifle, three country-made firearms and cartridges were recovered from the abductors, who demanded Rs. 1 crore in ransom for setting Rajesh free.
