Gopika Chandran, resident of Ambattur:

There has been a huge influx of people to Ambattur in the past two decades.

But, the local body has not been able to provide basic facilities, including roads, storm water drain network and sewer system.

Many stretches of the Chennai Tiruvallur High Road are still narrow, causing congestion. As it is the only road connecting with Chennai, residents are forced to drive amidst heavy vehicles. There is a need for providing subways at important junctions and widen the CTH Road. Transport facilities to different areas of the city also need improvement.
