SANGAREDDY: Collector S. Suresh Kumar directed the mandal officials to make Badi Baata programme, which commenced on Monday with opening of schools, a success. He also suggested parents to send their wards to school without fail. Interacting with officials and later visiting a government school at Pothireddypally village, Mr. Suresh Kumar said that the education standards in government schools were on a par with private schools and this was visible in Class X results announced recently. Stating that all children aged above five should be enrolled in schools, the Collector warned mandal-level officials that theyr would be held responsible for any lapse. Referring to the farmers' issues, the Collector said that required fertilizers and seeds should be kept ready as the kharif season had commenced. Mahabubnagar Correspondent adds: With a aim to enrol over 8,000 out of school children and to admit 86,000 children of above five years into first, the Badi Baata programme was launched by Collector M. Purushotham Reddy at upper primary school of Banda Meedipally village on the outskirts of Mahabubnagar town. The Collector told the teachers to provide quality education and utilize the facilities provided by Rajiv Vidya Mission. He also asked them to attend schools in time and concentrate on the weak students.
