Pai, Goud score centuries

HYDERABAD: Centuries by P. Vijay Goud (104) for India Cements and S. Anoop Pai (112) for State Bank of Hyderabad in different matches were the highlights of the A-Division (three-day) league cricket championship here on Friday.

The scores : A-Division (three-day) league : 2nd day: BDL 240 & 71 for one in 20 overs (Danny Derek Prince 55 n.o.) vs AOC 198 (Abhishek Sinha 53, Vishnuvardhan three for 23). 3rd day: Ensconse 324 & 110 for two in 31.2 overs (Ibrahim Khaleel 51 not out) drew with India Cements 274 (P. Vijay Goud 104, Mehdi Hasan three for 17). Evergreen 195 & 72 in 33.2 overs (S. M. Shoaib five for 18) lost to Andhra Bank 259 for seven (S. M. Shoaib 32 not out, Ghanshyam Yadav threee for 47) & nine for no loss. SCRSA 281& 212 for two in 39.2 overs ( A.G. Pradeep 98 not out, Elazer 39 not out, Solomon Raj 45) drew with SBH 414 for eight decl (S. Anoop Pai 112, Vishal Sharma 50 not out, V. V. V. Appa Rao six for 154). R. Dayanand XI 261 & 164 in 41.5 overs (Aniketh 78, P. Sashank Nag 35, M. A. Basheer four for 41, P. S. S. Bharath three for 44) lost to Deccan Chronicle 379 & 49 for one .

Pranjala in two finals

Y. Pranjala entered the finals in both girls under-12 and under-14 singles in the Sun-Jay Tennis Academy AITA Talent Series tennis tournament at ASCI Courts here.

The results: Girls: Under-12: Y. Pranjala bt K. Anusha 4-1, 4-2; S. Nidhi bt G. J. Sai Lakshmi 4-2, 1-4, 4-2. Under-14: Y. Pranjala bt M. Shivani 4-1, 4-2; G. J. Sai Lakshmi bt S. Nidhi 4-1, 4-2. Boys: Under-12: Rehan Kumar bt P. Eshwar Reddy 4-2, 4-1; Amit Batta bt Vikram Dhananjan 4-0, 4-0. Under-14: Parth Lal bt K. Rawal 4-2, 4-3 (7-5); P. V. Gnana Bhaskar bt P. Mahaboobnagar wins

Mahboobnagar Charminar Sports Academy won the All India Tipu Sultan Gold Cup invitation cricket tournament (T-20) with a 42-run win over Lightning Leopards in the final.

The scores: Mahboobnagar CSA 188 for eight in 20 overs (Harish Kumar Reddy 58, V.Vasanth Raj three for 21, S. Saif three for 18) bt Lightning Leopards 146 in 19.3 overs (Arvind four for 25, P. Shiva three for 20) .

Vamsi moves up

Vamsi Krishna defeated M. Sriram 6-1 in the boy's under-10 first round of the Shri Ram Group sub-junior tennis tournament organised by GVK Tennis Academy in Jubilee Hills here.

The results: Boys: Under-10: 1st round: M. Akash bt S. Dandriyal 6-1; R. Srivatsa bt T. Karra 6-3; Shreyan Reddy w\o D. Krishna; S. Rifaat bt Revanth Reddy 6-3; Vamsi Krishna bt M. Sriram 6-1.

Hyderabad wins again

Hyderabad recorded its fourth straight win in the South Zone under-16 women's cricket tournament defeating Goa by 10 wickets in Mysore.

The scores: Goa 76 in 24 overs (Pranesha three for 13, Sowmya four for 25) lost to Hyderabad 77 for no loss (Sneha 38) .

SECR in semifinals

South-East Central Railway defeated South Western Railway 75-47 in the final league match to qualify for the women's semifinals in the Rusheel Yadav All India premier league basketball championship at Narayanaguda YMCA here.

The result: Women: SE Central 75 (Akanksha 18, Anju Lakra 16, Pushpa 17) bt SW Rly 47 (Reshma 14, Ninisha 13, Smita 11) .
