Deepak Ray scores hat-trick

NEW DELHI: Deepak Ray performed a hat-trick to guide Delhi Transport Corporation to a 3-1 victory over Urban Development in a super-league match of the Institutional football league at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Friday. Jagpal Singh reduced the margin for Urban Development.

In another match, Food Corporation of India, North Zone, opened its campaign in the super-league of the senior division with a 3-1 victory over Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). Sanjeev Bhalla, Kulbhushan and Bhupinder Singh Rawat scored for the winner. Saurav shot the only goal for the loser.

In the DLF-ONGC-SAIL DSA league, State Bank of India came from behind to hold New Friends Club to a 1-1 draw. Karan Malhotra put Friends Club ahead in the 32nd minute while Ujjwal Barua equalised for State Bank in the 48th minute.

Royal Bengal failed to report for its match against Shakti Club.
