NAGAPATTINAM: The Nagapattinam charter of Tamil Nadu Consumer Protection Council (TNCPC) has called for introduction of an express train from Nagore to Bangalore, a service that was operational in the earlier meter gauge line. In a memorandum submitted to General Manager, Southern Railway, Deepak Kishan, the TNCPC has suggested utilisation of the rake of the Kamban Express to provide a link to Mayiladuthurai - Tirunelveli passenger train at Thanjavur. According to them, the Chennai-Nagore-Chennai Kamban Express remains idle till 8.05 p.m. after its arrival at Nagore at 9 a.m. The Chennai -Nagore-Chennai Kamban Express arrives at Nagore about 9 a.m. and leaves for Chennai at 8.05 p.m. As there is no train between 6.55 a.m. and 12.30 p.m., an express train may be operated at 10 p.m. utilising the rake of the Kamban Express and link may be provided to Tirunelveli passsenger train at Thanjavur.
