U.S. court indicts Shahzad
NEW YORK: Pakistani-American terror suspect Faisal Shahzad was on Friday indicted on 10 counts of terrorism and weapons charges in the botched Times Square car bombing and was also accused of receiving funds and explosives training from Tehrik-e-Taliban.
Shahzad, son of a retired Pakistan Air Force Vice-Marshal, was charged by a grand jury in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan that added five charges to the original case against him.
The jury charged 30-year-old Shahzad with conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction, attempting an act of terrorism and transportation of an explosive.
The indictment was that Shahzad was trained in Pakistan by affiliates of the Tehrik-e-Taliban. — PTI
