CHENNAI: Promising tennis player Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash will leave for London on June 20 to compete in the Wimbledon junior qualifiers. The16-year-old will be accompanied by Hiten Joshi, CEO and Chief Coach of the Tamil Nadu Tennis Association. Mohit, who has spent the past two months training at the Sanchez Casal Academy in Barcelona, had also participated in the French Open junior qualifiers where he lost in the last round. At a press conference on Friday, he said, “I was a little nervous in Paris because it was my first Grand Slam. I hope to do better in this event.” “We are pinning a lot of hopes on Mohit,” said Karti P. Chidambaram, Vice-President, TNTA.
