KOLKATA: Mohun Bagan picked up its first cricket title of the season beating traditional rival East Bengal by 86 runs in the final of the A.N. Ghosh Trophy at Eden Gardens here on Sunday. The second day of the two-day final saw Sanjib Sanyal (92) and Debabrata Das (45) put on a quick-fire 137-run unbroken partnership to help Bagan, which resumed at 171 for four, post a challenging 294 for four. The total swelled to 312 as East Bengal bowled two short of the full quota of 65 overs. The scores: Mohun Bagan 312 for four (Sanjib Sanyal 92 n.o., Debabrata Das 45 n.o.) bt East Bengal 226 in 55 overs (Arnab Nandy 66 n.o., Arindam Das 48, Parthasarathi Bhattacharjee 44, Sanjib Sanyal four for 52, Sultan Ahmed three for 70). — Principal Correspondent
