Veda school for Rs. 5 crore in Manthani

KARIMNAGAR: Minister for Higher Education and NRI affairs D Sridhar Babu has thanked the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams for sanctioning the Veda patashala (school) in the historic Manthani town albeit ‘Manthapuri'. Speaking after formally inaugurating the Veda patashala in Manthani town on Monday, the Minister said that the TTD had sanctioned the Veda school considering the historical importance of Manthani in the propagation of Vedas. He said that the TTD had sanctioned Rs. 5 crore for the Veda school.

A total of 40 students would be enrolled in the Veda school in two sections and would be imparted Veda education for 12 years. The government would deposit Rs. 3 lakh in favour of each student and after completion of education they would be given jobs in the TTD. He said that he would take all measures for the allocation of site for the construction of the Veda school in Manthani.

Development

He urged the endowments department to allocate huge funds for the development of Dharmapuri, Vemulawada, Kaleshwaram and Kondagattu temple shrines in the district. He also listed various educational institutions that he had secured during the last four years period in Manthani assembly segment.

TTDP Executive officer I.Y.R. Krishna Rao said that they would spend Rs. 2.5 crore for the construction of the school building and the remaining Rs. 2.5 crore for the maintenance.

He said that Mr. Sridhar Babu, when he was member of the TTD board member, took initiative for the sanctioning of the Veda school in Manthani town.
