MANGALORE: Sagar Ratna, a chain of restaurants established about 30 years ago, with 70 branches across North India, prides itself on offering good food at relatively reasonable prices for an upmarket restaurant. The recently opened restaurant at The Ocean Pearl offers vegetarian South Indian Thali for Rs. 60 and North Indian Thali for Rs. 90. The vegetarian restaurant also serves food prepared in the Jain style. Vice-president of Ocean Pearl Nagaraj Udupa said the restaurant aimed at setting prices that were “beneficial to all parties involved”. Rooms Room occupancy at the hotel, however, was still about 30 per cent, mainly due to the climate and the roads leading to the hotel, Mr. Udupa said. Market signs though are encouraging, he added.
